Good Behavior season 2 episode 7 titled "Don't Thank God, Thank Me" sees Letty Raines (Michelle Dockery) trying to make things right after realizing her mistakes. She makes a deal with a person who can help her out of jail, but it comes with a price. Meanwhile, Letty's son Jacob (Nyles Steele) goes through a phase of teenage rebellion, causing tension in the family.

The episode begins with Letty in jail, desperate to get out and be with her son. She makes a deal with a woman who can get her out if she is willing to do a job for her. Letty agrees without knowing what it is, but the woman promises it is nothing illegal. Letty meets with the woman's associate, a man named Blake (Lusia Strus), who gives her a briefcase and tells her to go to a specific location at a specific time.

Letty goes to the location and meets the potential buyer of the briefcase, a rich businessman named Jacob (Jonny Coyne). He tells Letty that the briefcase contains evidence against him and that he is willing to pay her a lot of money to hand it over to him. Letty is torn between doing the job and getting the money to be with her son or doing the right thing and turning in the evidence to the authorities.

In the meantime, Letty's son Jacob is going through a rebellious phase. He has been skipping school and hanging out with a troubled girl named Heather (Brooke Bloom). Letty's mother Estelle (Lusia Strus) is concerned and tries to talk to Jacob, but he shrugs her off. Letty's sister, Xavi (Alicia Coppola), suggests Estelle take Jacob to see their father's grave, hoping it will help him get perspective.

Letty is torn between her desire to be with her son and her need to do the right thing. She seeks advice from her sponsor, Christian (Terry Kinney), who tells her that sometimes doing the right thing can be hard, but it is the only way to maintain her sobriety. Letty realizes Christian is right, and she decides to turn the briefcase over to the authorities.

Meanwhile, Estelle takes Jacob to see his father's grave, hoping it will help him come to terms with his emotions. Jacob tells Estelle that he hates Letty for never being there for him and for always being in trouble. Estelle tries to explain that Letty loves him and is trying to change, but Jacob does not want to listen.

Letty meets with Blake and tells him she cannot do the job. Blake is angry, but he gives her a phone number to call when she changes her mind. Letty goes to the police station and turns the briefcase over, feeling like she has done the right thing.

When Letty is released from jail, she goes to pick up Jacob from school. Jacob is distant, but Letty tries to reach out to him. She tells him about her time in jail and how she has changed. Jacob softens, and the two reconcile. Estelle is happy to see them together, but she knows it will still be a long road for Letty to regain Jacob's trust.

"Don't Thank God, Thank Me" showcases Michelle Dockery's acting skills as she portrays Letty's struggle between doing the right thing and making things right with her son. The episode also explores the complicated relationship between Letty and Jacob, who has grown bitter towards his mother's past mistakes. The episode sets the stage for a potential storyline of Letty's redemption and her journey to regain the trust of her family.
