Danny is still recovering from his surgery and not feeling like himself when he and McGarrett are summoned to the scene of a homicide. The victim is an ex-con who had been recently released from prison and was attempting to turn his life around. As they investigate, they learn that the victim was involved in a car theft ring and had gotten on the wrong side of some dangerous people. Meanwhile, Tani and Junior find themselves in the middle of a dangerous situation when they respond to a call about a home invasion. The suspect they find at the scene leads them on a chase that ends in a shocking discovery. Back at headquarters, Adam finally gets a lead on the person who has been spying on him.
