Ep 1. 18 Chefs Compete

In "18 Chefs Compete," the first episode of Hell's Kitchen's fifteenth season, 18 chefs from around the country are introduced as they arrive at the Hell's Kitchen restaurant. The chefs are immediately put to work, with host Gordon Ramsay tasking them with their first challenge: preparing a dish of their choice in 45 minutes.

The chefs are divided into two teams, the red team and the blue team, and given access to the restaurant's fully-stocked kitchen. As they scramble to prep their dishes, tensions begin to rise, with some chefs feeling the pressure of their first big challenge.

Amidst the chaos, some of the chefs begin to shine. One contestant, in particular, impresses Ramsay with her leadership skills and ability to keep her team focused. Others struggle to keep up and are called out by Ramsay for their mistakes.

As the service comes to a close, Ramsay names one team the winner based on their performance and declares that the losing team must nominate two chefs for elimination. The chefs are sent to the dorms to deliberate and decide who among them will be sent home.
