Peter Brady has a theory that this is part of a plan to launch another world war – that atom bombs are being placed under the capitol cities of the world during the peace years. Peter Brady risks his life when trying to save a friend from being blown-up by a new type of bomb detonator. The bomb will explode the moment a shadow falls on it, and Captain Barry Finch is trapped in a sand pit with it during a demonstration to high-ranking officers. Every time he tries to move, more sand slides towards the bomb, and any shock or shadow will set it off. It's impossible for anyone to crawl to the pit and defuse the bomb... except for The Invisible Man!

A new top-secret rocket is being taken by road for test firing off the coast of Scotland and Smith has disclosed the time and route. He gives instructions for the envoy truck to be halted…but it has disappeared.

At the Paris airport, a man swipes Peter's bag and passport, wraps his head in gauze, and passes through customs unmolested because they assume he's Dr. Peter Brady. This subterfuge allows him to smuggle a shipment of cocaine into Britain without being apprehended. Upset over the impersonation, Peter works with two undercover Scotland Yard officers to get to the leader of the drug operation.

Writer Tania Roskov is arrested at her home country's border when attempting to visit the West to accept a literary award. The leaders of the Communist regime consider her a traitor for her honesty. Peter, who's attending the awards with his sister, crosses the country's border minefield to find and free Tania. Because of his Peter's fame, the Communist leaders anticipate his arrival.

One of the most audacious international spies in Europe murders the elderly Professor Harper and steals vital papers on which he had been working. Knowing he has fled to Amsterdam, M.I. 5 recruits Peter Brady to travel to Holland to find him. Peter teams up with British agent Jenny Reydon, and together they work to recover the stolen research.

A beautiful but frightened young woman escapes a mental hospital where she's been held, and appeals to Peter for help. Her boyfriend, George, is on death row for murdering a police inspector and she has a photo proving he was elsewhere the day of the killing. It quickly becomes obvious that Dr. Trevors, who runs the hospital, is more interested in keeping his patient quiet than in saving George from the gallows.

Four pilots have died in test flights of Professor Scott's fuel diffuser, a breakthrough that would more than double the range of current aircrafts. Scott is ready to admit defeat until Peter does some snooping around. The Invisible Man is convinced that it's espionage, especially after foreign agents try to assassinate him. He lets them think they've succeeded so he can root out the saboteur in Scott's lab.
