The television series Rebus is a dramatic take on a detective story plot. In the series it follows a man as he goes through various cases trying to solve mysteries and cases which he comes across. The main characters' name is John Rebus. In the first two episodes of the series he narrates his every step and allows the audience to get into the brain of the detective investigator. The detective takes on cases from the police and others in order to solve mysteries which have since now been unsolved. Any case that John Rebus takes on he solves and lets all of the viewers feel how he and see what an investigator would see in his place. He takes on cases from murders to drug related cases and everything in between. He is on the search for the people and criminals that are still out and about committing crimes. He attempts to catch and prosecute the people who deserve it most. The mystery element is still involved in this series but gets inside the head of the main character by saying aloud what he is thinking by narrating his every move. The television series was originally filmed and produced by Scottish Television and Clerkenwell Films. It first aired in the year of 2000. The cast was full of known actors including John Hannah, Gayanne Potter and Sara Stewart. The episodes became popular and began to become full length episodes after only a few seasons. Ken Stott made later appearances as the lead character where the thoughts are no longer said aloud. The series ran for four season and was showed on ITV, STV and many more. It has been released to everyone on DVD and can be seen from homes in the UK. It released its' DVD collection in January of 2006 and has released all four seasons now.
