The Grand is a British television show that had two seasons. The show is about the Bannerman family, who re-open the Grand Hotel after World War I in the 20s. The show follows John Bannerman and his wife Sarah, their son Stephen, and John's brother Marcus. Stephen has just returned from the war, and Marcus is a businessman interested in Sarah. Jacob Collins is the Head Porter in charge of all the staff; who takes pride in their work. The show is set in Manchester, England. The show aired from 1997-1998, for a total of 18 episodes. The show was written by Russell T. Davies, and starred: Michael Siberry (John Bannerman), Mark McGann (Marcus Bannerman), Julia St. John (Sarah Bannerman, If an Meridith (Stephen Bannerman), and Tim Healy (Jacob Collins). After the Grand Hotel ended, the show was novelized by author Catrin Collier. Catrin Collier continued the story with two novels.
