- February 3, 2014
House Hunters is a popular television show that has been on the air for over 50 seasons. The basic premise of the show is to follow individuals or couples who are in the market for a new home. Each episode focuses on a different set of homebuyers, and viewers get to see the selection process as the buyers go through houses, make their choice, and ultimately move in.
In season 52 episode 19, we get a special treat - a "Where Are They Now?" episode. For those who have followed the show for a while, you know that this means we get to check in on some of the past homebuyers and see how they are doing in their new homes. This is always a fun episode because it's interesting to see how people can transform a space into something that reflects their personality.
The episode starts with a recap of some of the past homebuyers we've seen on the show. We get to revisit some of the more memorable buyers, including a couple who were looking for a home on the beach, a single mom who wanted a house with a big backyard for her kids to play in, and a retired couple who were downsizing to a smaller home.
Once we've been reminded of some of the previous homebuyers, the episode transitions to the "Where Are They Now?" portion. The first family we check in on is the couple who was searching for a beachfront property. When we first met them, they were having difficulty finding something in their budget, but eventually, they ended up buying a fixer-upper right on the beach. In the "Where Are They Now?" segment, we see how the couple has transformed their home into a beautiful oasis - they put in new flooring, redid the kitchen, and even added a pool in the backyard. It's clear that this couple has put a lot of love and effort into making their house a home.
Next, we revisit the single mom who wanted a big backyard for her kids. She ended up choosing a house that had a big yard but needed some work. In the "Where Are They Now?" segment, we find out that the mom did a lot of DIY work on the house herself - she painted the entire interior, put down new flooring, and even installed a new fence in the backyard. She tells us that while the work was hard, it was also very rewarding, and now she and her kids have a beautiful home that they love.
Finally, we catch up with the retired couple who downsized to a smaller home. They had been living in a large house for many years, but as they got older, the upkeep became too much for them. They ended up buying a smaller house that needed a bit of updating. In the "Where Are They Now?" segment, we see that they've done a lot of work on the house. They've added new lighting fixtures, fresh paint, and made some other small changes that have made the house feel much more modern. They tell us that they love their new house because it's much easier to take care of, but they don't feel like they've sacrificed anything in terms of style.
Overall, this episode of House Hunters is a great example of why the show has been so popular for so many years. Not only do we get to see the excitement of people finding their dream home, but we also get to see how much love and care goes into making a house a home. Watching people transform their spaces is always inspirational, and this episode is no exception.
