House Rules Season 5 Episode 6 Episode 6 - Renovation Continues
- May 4, 2017
The popular home renovation reality show "House Rules" returns for its fifth season, and in episode 6, the teams get back to work in the next stage of their renovations. With only six teams remaining, tensions are high as they race against the clock to finish their projects and impress the judges.
The episode begins with host Johanna Griggs checking in on each of the teams as they continue to work on their assigned homes. First up is the Queensland couple, Mikaela and Eliza, who are working on a home in Tasmania. They have chosen a bright and funky color scheme for the interior, with bold wallpapers and bright accents. However, they're struggling to balance their design choices with the functionality of the space, and their builders are feeling the pressure to keep up with their demands.
Next, Griggs heads over to Western Australia where Andrew and Jono are working on their second renovation of the competition. They are tackling a family home in need of a major overhaul, and have decided to go for a modern and minimalist style. However, they're having trouble finding the harmony between the old and new elements of the house, and their designer is starting to worry that their vision won't come together in time.
Down in New South Wales, contestants Pete and Courtney are working to transform a dated bungalow into a stylish and modern family home. They've chosen a neutral color palette with pops of green and brass, and are incorporating many natural elements, such as wood and stone, into their design. Their builders are impressed with their attention to detail, but they're struggling to stay on schedule as they encounter unexpected setbacks.
In Victoria, mother and daughter team Lenore and Bradley are taking on a challenging renovation of an old weatherboard cottage. They're working to preserve the original features of the house while giving it a fresh update, and have chosen a classic and elegant style. However, they're finding it difficult to work with some of the quirky elements of the house, such as a sloping floor, and are worried that their design choices might not suit the potential buyers.
In South Australia, married couple Dave and Mel are working on a beautiful historic mansion in need of some serious TLC. They've decided to embrace the grandeur of the house and go for a luxurious and opulent style, with rich colors and textures. However, they're encountering many challenges with the sheer size of the project, and their builder is struggling to keep up with the demands of the renovation.
Finally, Griggs checks in on husband and wife team, Kim and Michelle, who are renovating a country home in Victoria. They've chosen a rustic and farmhouse style, using many natural materials and incorporating vintage elements. However, their builder is struggling to work with the older style of the house, and they're facing issues with the plumbing and electrical systems.
As the episode draws to a close, the contestants are all feeling the pressure of the competition as they work to finish their projects before the deadline. With only two weeks left, they'll need to push themselves harder than ever before to impress the judges and stay in the game. Tune in to find out which team will rise to the challenge and which will fall behind in this exciting episode of "House Rules."
