In the fourth episode of I Quit season 1, titled "Two Steps Forward, One Step Back," viewers are once again introduced to three different sets of entrepreneurs on the verge of quitting their day jobs to pursue their passion projects full-time.
First up are Andrea and Robin, a mother-daughter team from Austin, Texas, who have created a line of all-natural, preservative-free baking mixes. Despite having secured deals with a few local stores, the duo find themselves struggling to meet demand and turn a profit. They reach out to a packaging expert to help them improve their presentation and potentially score more retail partnerships.
Meanwhile, Jeff and Jen, a married couple from Denver, Colorado, are working to launch their eco-friendly outdoor gear company. They plan to do a soft launch at an upcoming trade show, but with only a few weeks to go, they realize they are running low on funds and may have to borrow money from family members to make it happen. They also have to deal with some manufacturing mishaps and worry that their gear won't be ready in time for the show.
Finally, we meet Eli, a former NFL player turned handbag designer from Phoenix, Arizona. Eli has already quit his football coaching job to focus on his business, but he's starting to feel the financial strain. He meets with a business coach who encourages him to consider alternative revenue streams, like holding workshops and speaking engagements. Eli also has to deal with some issues with his manufacturer and worries that his bags won't be ready in time for a big photo shoot.
As always, the episode is full of the highs and lows of entrepreneurship - moments of excitement and victory, followed by setbacks and discouragement. Will Andrea and Robin be able to gain more traction for their baking mixes? Will Jeff and Jen be able to pull off their soft launch despite money and manufacturing woes? And will Eli be able to diversify his income streams and get his handbag line off the ground? Viewers will have to tune in to find out.
