In the fourth episode of season one of Insomniac with Dave Attell, Dave travels to Kansas City, Missouri, in search of the city's nightlife and oddities. As he walks around the city late at night, he encounters a mix of colorful characters, from bar-goers to homeless individuals to a group of mechanical bull riders.

Dave stops at a few different bars, taking in the unique atmospheres and trying out various drinks. At one bar, he participates in a strange tradition where patrons take shots of whiskey with a small live snake in the glass. He also gets a taste of the city's famous barbecue at a late-night spot, where he talks to the owner about the importance of good food and the history of the restaurant.

Throughout the episode, Dave also explores some of Kansas City's more offbeat offerings. He visits a 24-hour doughnut shop, where he samples some of their bizarre flavor combinations and chats with the employees about the importance of doughnuts in the city's food scene. He also checks out a local strip club, where he talks to some of the dancers about their experiences and the intersection between sex work and feminism.

As the night goes on, Dave's journey takes a slightly surreal turn as he encounters a few unexpected sights. He comes across a group of people performing an interpretive dance on the side of the road, and later stumbles upon a party in an empty lot with live music and impromptu fire jugglers.

All throughout the episode, Dave's commentary and interactions with the people he meets add humor and levity to the sometimes bizarre situations he finds himself in. With his quick wit and irreverence, he offers a unique perspective on Kansas City's nightlife scene and the people who inhabit it.
