Kagome returns to her own time to study for her upcoming exams, but her mind is still preoccupied with thoughts of Inuyasha. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and the gang come across a mysterious castle where their swords are unable to harm the residents. Inside, they encounter a young boy named Souta who is worried about his ailing mother, and a powerful demon named Kyokotsu who has taken residence in the castle. Kyokotsu is seeking revenge against a powerful priestess he believes to be Kagome. The gang quickly realizes that they must find a way to defeat Kyokotsu before it's too late.
