- February 23, 2004
Inuyasha, the beloved anime series, presents season 6 episode 17, titled "3,000 Leagues In Search of Father." The episode begins with Inuyasha, Kagome, Shippo, and Sango continuing their search for Naraku. The journey leads them to a village where a girl, named Ai, summons them to her father's defense. Ai's father, a skilled blacksmith, has been accused of stealing by the rich, corrupt lord of the village. However, Ai believes that her father is innocent and wants the group to prove it.
They arrive at the lord's castle and demand to see him. The lord is a pompous man who chooses to ignore them. In his arrogance, he dares Inuyasha to retrieve a rare metal, called "dragon stone," from a dragon's lair. If they fail, he will punish the villagers and Ai's father. Always up for a challenge, Inuyasha accepts and the group sets off on a quest.
Their journey takes them through dangerous terrain and they encounter several obstacles. At one point, they meet a group of bandits who try to steal the dragon stone. However, Inuyasha and the gang overcome them with their powerful skills. Along the way, they also come across a young woman, named Suzuna, who claims to be searching for her missing father.
As they near the dragon's lair, Inuyasha and Kagome realize that they are running out of time. The dragon stone needs to be retrieved before nightfall, or the dragon will become too powerful to defeat. Kagome comes up with a plan to lure the dragon out of the cave using bells. The plan works, but Inuyasha is badly injured during the fight.
With the dragon stone in hand, the group rushes back to the village to present it to the lord. They are met with a surprise when they discover that Suzuna is actually Ai's father, disguised as a woman to escape the persecution by the lord. They reveal the truth to everyone, and the lord is exposed as the real thief. He is punished, and Ai's father is acquitted.
The episode ends with Ai and her father reuniting and the group continuing their journey to find Naraku. Inuyasha, a tale of adventure and friendship, continues to captivate audiences with its engaging storylines and well-developed characters.
