In Jay Leno's Garage season 5 episode 3, titled "Truly Unconventional," host Jay Leno takes viewers on a wild ride through some of the most unique and unconventional vehicles he has ever encountered.

The episode kicks off with Leno showcasing a vehicle that's been dubbed "The Hurricane." This one-of-a-kind creation was built by a group of high school students, and is powered by a jet engine that was salvaged from a retired Navy aircraft. Leno marvels at the ingenuity of the young builders as he takes The Hurricane for a spin.

Next up, Leno introduces viewers to a vehicle that looks like it's straight out of a science fiction movie. The Tarso Marque was designed by a Brazilian aerospace engineer and is a hybrid of a car and a motorcycle. It's powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, and can go from zero to 60 in less than four seconds. Leno is understandably impressed with the Tarso Marque's futuristic look and impressive performance.

The episode then takes an unexpected turn as Leno visits the home of a man who collects and restores vintage pedalcars. While these miniature vehicles may not be high-performance machines, they are undeniably cute and charming. Leno is delighted as he gets behind the wheel of one of these tiny cars and takes it for a spin.

Returning to the world of high-performance vehicles, Leno introduces viewers to a mighty monster of a machine, the Porsche 917. This car was designed to dominate the racetrack, and it did just that in the 1970s. Leno takes the 917 out for a spin and marvels at its raw power and speed.

Next, Leno takes viewers to the home of a man who has built a replica of a famous hot rod from the 1950s. The "Kookie Kar" was a fixture of the Southern California car scene back in the day, and this replica is a faithful recreation of the original. Leno takes the Kookie Kar out for a spin and reflects on the history and cultural significance of this iconic vehicle.

The episode closes with Leno visiting the home of a man who has built a replica of a vehicle that was designed for the 1989 movie "Batman." The Batmobile may be a fictional vehicle, but this replica is a very real and impressive piece of engineering. Leno takes the Batmobile out for a spin and marvels at the attention to detail that went into building this amazing car.

Overall, "Truly Unconventional" is a thrilling and entertaining episode of Jay Leno's Garage that showcases some of the most unusual and impressive vehicles in the world. From high-performance sports cars to vintage pedalcars, this episode has something for everyone.
