Ep 9. The Truth Will Set You Free

Part of the highly popular Jersey Shore, season 5 episode 9 is named "The Truth Will Set You Free." At this point in the season, the cast has been living in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, for weeks, and naturally, the drama is at an all-time high.

In this episode, viewers get a chance to see some of this drama come to a head. One of the main storylines of the episode centers around Snooki and Jionni, her boyfriend. In a previous episode, Snooki hooked up with Vinny, another cast member, while she was heavily intoxicated. Though Snooki claims that she doesn't remember anything from that night, the other cast members seem to believe that she was more aware of her actions than she's letting on.

This episode begins with Jionni, who has been off-screen for a few episodes before this point, returning to the house. Snooki is happy to see him, but tensions between them are high. Eventually, Snooki tells Jionni that she hooked up with Vinny, leading to a dramatic argument between the two.

Meanwhile, other cast members are dealing with their own issues. Pauly D, in a guest confessional, reveals that he's starting to feel like he doesn't fit in with the rest of the cast. It's clear that Pauly is growing tired of the crazy partying and constant drama that the rest of the cast is so accustomed to.

Mike, aka The Situation, is another cast member struggling in this episode. He's still dealing with the fallout from his tense relationship with Snooki. At this point, Snooki is fed up with Mike's lying and manipulative behavior, and she doesn't want to be around him anymore. Mike tries to apologize to Snooki, but she's not having it.

This episode also sees the introduction of a new character: Ryder. Ryder is a friend of Snooki's from back home, and she's come to stay at the house for a few days. Though the other cast members are wary of her at first, Ryder quickly makes friends with everyone and fits right in with the rest of the group.

As the episode winds down, tensions between Snooki and Jionni are still high. After their argument earlier in the episode, Jionni tells Snooki that he's leaving the house. Snooki is obviously upset by this, but she knows that she needs to work on her relationship with Jionni before things can get better.
