JJ Villard's Fairy Tales is an animated horror-comedy series on Adult Swim, inspired by classic fairy tales and mixing their elements with horror themes. The first season consists of six episodes, each one featuring a different tale twisted in Villard's deranged style. The first episode is called "The Goldilox Massacre".

The episode begins with a parody of the classic fairy tale "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". However, this version is much darker and more twisted, as Goldilox is depicted as a psychopathic teenage girl who enjoys breaking into people's homes, stealing their belongings, and killing them. She enters the cabin of the three bears, finding it more interesting than the other homes she has broken into. The bears are depicted as the same as in the original tale, but with grotesque and exaggerated features that add to the horror atmosphere of the story.

The bears quickly become aware of Goldilox's presence, but instead of fleeing, they confront her. The altercation turns violent, and Villard doesn't shy away from displaying gore and brutality. The animation style is reminiscent of old horror cartoons, with distorted and deformed characters, exaggerated expressions, and lots of blood and guts. The humor is extremely dark, often relying on shock value and taboo subjects.

As the story progresses, Goldilox shows more of her twisted personality, revealing her backstory and motivations. She has a troubled relationship with her mother, who verbally abuses her and imposes strict rules. Goldilox's preferences for breaking into others' homes and killing them may come from her feeling oppressed and repressed at home. She develops a twisted relationship with Baby Bear, the youngest of the three bears, and sees him as her "baby" to protect and care for. The interaction between Goldilox and Baby Bear is both disturbing and bizarre, adding to the madness of the story.

The plot thickens when the police arrive at the cabin, led by a detective named Hopkins. He is a seasoned cop who has seen it all and has a strong intuition when it comes to criminals. He suspects Goldilox of being a serial killer and is determined to capture her. Hopkins is a direct reference to the character of Norman Bates in "Psycho", as well as other classic horror icons.

The episode becomes a cat-and-mouse game between Goldilox and Hopkins, with the bears caught in the middle. The tension rises as the situation becomes more desperate, and the body count keeps increasing. Villard takes some liberties with the original story, adding a twist that neither the audience nor the characters expected. The finale is a bloody and chaotic climax that leaves a mark on the viewer.

Overall, JJ Villard's Fairy Tales season 1 episode 1 "The Goldilox Massacre" is a shocking introduction to the series. It sets the tone for the rest of the season, showcasing Villard's morbid and irreverent sense of humor, mixed with a love for horror and the macabre. The animation and art style perfectly convey the twisted nature of the story, making it a unique and memorable viewing experience. Fans of dark humor, horror, and classic fairy tales will surely enjoy this first episode and the rest of the series.
