  • February 12, 2014

In Episode 93 of Judge Mathis's 15th season, the honorable judge presides over several cases involving broken landlord-tenant relationships, stolen property, and accusations of assault.

The first case involves a tenant who claims her landlord kept her security deposit without reason. The tenant argues that she left the rental property in excellent condition and fulfilled all the terms of the lease agreement, but the landlord refused to return her deposit. The landlord, however, insists that the tenant left the property in poor condition and therefore, the deposit was rightfully withheld. Judge Mathis has to determine whether the landlord acted within the law and if the tenant owes any damage fees.

In the second case, a woman claims that her ex-boyfriend stole her car and sold it to a chop shop. The woman states that she had loaned her car to her ex-boyfriend for a short time, but he failed to return it. She then contacted the police, who tracked down the vehicle and found it in a chop shop. However, the ex-boyfriend denies stealing the car and insists that he had permission to use it. Judge Mathis has to determine who has the legal right to the car and who should bear the financial consequences of its loss.

The third case involves a landlord who accuses his tenant of causing extensive damage to his rental property and skipping out on rental payments. The landlord claims that the tenant caused over $5000 worth of damage, many of which were not covered by the tenant's security deposit. The tenant, on the other hand, argues that the landlord failed to fulfill his responsibilities to maintain the rental property, which led to most of the damages. Additionally, the tenant maintains that she did not skip out on rental payments but instead had paid rent in advance. Judge Mathis has to unravel the tangled web of conflicting claims and evidence to determine who is responsible for the property damage and whether the tenant owes the landlord any money.

Finally, in the last case, a man accuses another man of assaulting him in a convenience store parking lot. The plaintiff claims that the defendant hit him in the face without provocation and caused him severe injuries that required medical attention. The defendant, however, claims that the plaintiff provoked him and threatened him with violence, forcing him to defend himself. Judge Mathis has to assess the credibility of the witnesses and decide whether the defendant used excessive force and violated the plaintiff's rights.

Throughout the episode, Judge Mathis employs his unique and entertaining style to get to the bottom of each case and deliver fair and impartial verdicts. Whether he is grilling witnesses, cracking jokes, or offering his own insights, Judge Mathis remains committed to upholding the law and ensuring that justice is served.
