Judge Mathis is an American syndicated court show that airs on broadcast television stations across the United States. The show features retired Michigan 36th District Court judge, Greg Mathis, presiding over small claims cases and dispensing justice in his unique and candid manner. The show's format is similar to other court shows, with Judge Mathis hearing both sides of a dispute, questioning witnesses, and delivering his verdict.

Season 17 of Judge Mathis features a wide range of cases, from family disputes to landlord-tenant disagreements. Episode 27 is no exception, as Judge Mathis tackles a case involving a woman named Tara who claims that her former roommate, Tammy, stole her expensive basketball shoes. Tara explains that she and Tammy had been friends for years and had even played on the same basketball team. However, when Tammy moved in with her, things quickly went sour.

According to Tara, Tammy had a habit of borrowing her clothing and shoes without permission. Despite numerous warnings, Tammy continued to take Tara's belongings and even went so far as to sell some of them on the internet. Tara says that things came to a head when she discovered that her brand new basketball shoes had gone missing. She eventually discovered them listed for sale on an online marketplace, and immediately knew that Tammy was responsible.

Tammy denies the allegations and says that Tara is simply trying to smear her name. She claims that she never took Tara's shoes and certainly never sold them. Tammy says that Tara is simply bitter because she asked Tammy to move out after a dispute over rent money.

Judge Mathis listens to both sides of the story and asks Tara to produce evidence of the theft. Tara presents the court with screenshots of the online marketplace listing, as well as photos of her wearing the shoes in question prior to their disappearance. Tammy tries to argue that the photos could have been taken at any time, but Judge Mathis is unconvinced.

In the end, Judge Mathis rules in Tara's favor and orders Tammy to reimburse her for the cost of the shoes. Tammy begrudgingly agrees to the ruling, but maintains her innocence. As the two women leave the courtroom, Judge Mathis reminds them that it's always better to try to work things out peacefully rather than resorting to legal action.

Overall, Episode 27 of Judge Mathis is a classic example of the type of small claims disputes that the show deals with on a regular basis. The case is relatively straightforward, but Judge Mathis' no-nonsense approach helps to keep things interesting and engaging. Whether you're a fan of court shows or not, there's no denying the entertainment value of seeing Judge Mathis dispense justice with his trademark flair and humor.
