Told that one of the magazine's female models is attracted to Maya, Finch hopes to realize a lifelong fantasy by setting them up for a date. Claiming that Jack wants her to take the model to dinner, Finch is convinced that Maya won't be able to resist a romance with Jill. And unaware that she's being set up, Maya arrives for their rendezvous while Jack decides that he needs to be just one of the guys. As long as Finch keeps his true motives under wraps, Maya is more than willing to play right into his hands. However, once he's called away to the phone, Maya learns just what Jill has been told. Rather than calling an end to the charade, they string Finch along in order to get revenge. As a result Finch has no idea he's being the one set up when Maya and Jill ask him to join them on their next date. Meanwhile, after insisting that Nina and Elliott treat him just like anyone else at the office, their harsh sarcasm forces Jack to reconsider his decision. When Jill suddenly claims she has too much to take care of before leaving the country for several months, Finch gladly offers to help out so she and Maya can keep their date. As Jack devises a way to get revenge for Nina and Elliott's relentless sarcasm, Finch enlists several interested men to get Jill ready for her trip. Although Finch is certain that she and Maya are going to let him watch whatever happens between them, Jill and Maya conclude their vengeful joke by staging a fight. And though Finch sees all of his hard work going down the drain, he still manages to keep his pride, and his dream, alive.
