Ep 1. Abolished Club!

The first episode of K-On! is titled "Abolished Club!" and it introduces us to the main character, Yui Hirasawa, and her journey to find a club to join in her first year of high school.

The girls try to teach her basic guitar chords, but Yui can't seem to get the hang of it. Ritsu decides to start off by having Yui practice with a castanet instead, which provides a comedic moment as Yui accidentally smacks herself in the face.

As the episode progresses, Yui becomes more motivated to learn how to play guitar so that she can contribute to the club's music. We also get to see how the other members interact with each other, with Ritsu being the energetic and outgoing type, Mio being the serious and reserved type, Tsumugi being the sweet and kind type, and Sawako-sensei being the eccentric and flamboyant type.

With Yui's addition to the club, the girls start brainstorming ideas for their first performance. They eventually decide to participate in the school's upcoming cultural festival and perform a song that Ritsu has written. However, they quickly realize that they don't have a vocalist.

After some coaxing from the girls, Yui reluctantly steps up to the plate and volunteers to be the vocalist. She practices diligently and eventually impresses the other members with her singing.

The episode ends with the girls all excited and eager to perform at the cultural festival, and Yui realizing that she has found a new passion in music.
