In Kindred Spirits season 6 episode 7, titled "Tradition Dies Hard," paranormal investigators Amy Bruni and Adam Berry travel to rural Indiana to investigate claims of ghostly activity in an old farmhouse. The owners, a family who have lived on the property for generations, are convinced that the spirit of their patriarch still lingers in the house, and that he is not happy with the changes they have made to the property over the years.
As Amy and Adam begin their investigation, they are struck by the palpable sense of history that permeates the property. The house is filled with antiques and family heirlooms, many of which date back to the early 1900s. The family members themselves are deeply connected to the land and the house, and are reluctant to make any changes that might disturb their ancestors.
As they explore the house, Amy and Adam encounter a number of strange occurrences. They hear unexplained footsteps and voices, and see doors opening and closing on their own. They also record several instances of EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) that seem to be coming from the deceased family patriarch. One particularly eerie moment occurs when Adam feels a cold breeze on the back of his neck, followed by the sensation of someone breathing on him.
As the investigation continues, Amy and Adam realize that the family's reluctance to change may be holding them back from finding a resolution to the paranormal activity. They encourage the family to be open to possible solutions, such as moving certain items or making minor alterations to the house. The family members are hesitant at first, but eventually agree to try some of the suggestions.
In the end, Amy and Adam find evidence that suggests that the spirit haunting the house may not be the family patriarch after all, but rather a former tenant who was tragically killed in the house many years ago. With this information, they are able to help the family come to terms with the history of the house and find ways to peacefully coexist with the spirit. The episode ends with the family feeling a sense of acceptance and closure, having learned to embrace the present while respecting their past.
