Ep 6. Mangia Mangia Pt. 2

In Kitchen Nightmares season 7 episode 6, Mangia Mangia Pt. 2, Gordon Ramsay returns to the Italian restaurant to see if the owner, husband and wife team Luigi and Anna, have made any improvements since his last visit.

The episode starts off with the aftermath of the previous episode where Gordon left, unimpressed with the restaurant's food, service, and overall atmosphere. However, on returning, he is surprised and pleased to see that the staff has made some significant changes in the restaurant. The décor has been updated, the menu has been simplified, and the kitchen has been reorganized. However, despite these changes, the restaurant is still struggling to turn a profit, and Gordon still has a lot of work to do.

Gordon begins his work by observing the kitchen, where he discovers that the head chef is still micromanaging everything, resulting in mistakes and delay of orders. He takes the chef aside and gives him a pep talk, asking him to delegate tasks among the kitchen staff and trust their abilities. Along with the chef, Gordon also motivates the waitstaff to work as a team while providing excellent service to the customers.

As he continues his inspection of the kitchen, Gordon discovers some issues with the quality of the ingredients being used. He finds out that some of the dishes are made using canned tomatoes, and he insists that the restaurant should use fresh tomatoes from a local farm. He also challenges the chef to use local produce and experiment with new recipes to attract more customers.

Next, Gordon turns his attention to the restaurant's finances. Despite the improvements, Mangia Mangia is still losing money, and Gordon discovers that Luigi is dipping into his personal savings account to fund the restaurant. This is a massive red flag, and Gordon asks for a financial advisor to come in and help Luigi manage his restaurant's finances.

The episode ends with a new and improved Mangia Mangia. The restaurant has new décor, a new menu that includes fresh ingredients, and an effective management system. Additionally, Luigi has a clearer understanding of his restaurant's finances and how to manage future profits. Gordon Ramsay leaves the restaurant feeling pleased with the result and hopeful for the future of Mangia Mangia.
