Lamput is an Indian animated television series created by Vaibhav Kumaresh and produced by Vaibhav Studios. The show premiered on Cartoon Network India on October 26, 2016, and has since gained a following for its unique animation style and quirky storylines.
In season 1, episode 1 titled "A Little Bit Orange", we are introduced to the main character of the show, Lamput. Lamput is a mischievous orange blob who constantly evades capture from a group of scientists that are after him. In this episode, we get a glimpse into Lamput's world and the kind of shenanigans he gets up to.
The episode starts with the scientists chasing after Lamput on a rainy night. They are driving a truck and are equipped with high-tech gadgets to catch him. The setting is a deserted desert road with no other people or cars in sight. The mood is tense and the music adds to the drama of the scene.
Lamput is shown running on the road, with the truck hot on his heels. This is where the unique animation style of the show comes into play. The characters are all drawn in a minimalist style, with no eyes, nose, mouth or any other features. They are all solid colors, with only minimal details to indicate their shape. This gives the show a distinct look and makes it stand out from other animated shows.
As Lamput runs, he jumps into a nearby telephone booth and disappears. The scientists are confused, and they split up to search for him. One scientist goes to the telephone booth and opens it, only to find that Lamput is not inside. However, he does find a phone book, and this sets up the rest of the episode.
The scientist starts flipping through the phone book, looking for any clues about Lamput's whereabouts. He comes across a listing for a fruit seller who sells oranges. The title of the listing is "Orange a Little Bit".
The scientist rushes back to the truck and tells his colleagues about the listing. They all agree that this might be a clue, and they head off in search of the fruit seller.
The next scene shows the fruit seller's shop, which is on a street corner. The fruit seller is busy arranging his oranges when the scientists pull up in their truck. They jump out and start searching the shop for Lamput. However, Lamput is smart and manages to evade them once again by blending in with the oranges.
This is where the humor of the show comes in. The scientists start searching through the oranges, picking them up, and examining them. Meanwhile, Lamput is hiding in plain sight, and we as the audience can clearly see him blending in with the rest of the oranges. This is a recurring theme in the show, where Lamput is always one step ahead of his pursuers and manages to outsmart them every time.
The episode ends with the scientists leaving the shop, dejected and empty-handed. Lamput is shown sitting on a pile of oranges, smirking at the camera. The music fades out, and the show's logo appears.
Overall, episode 1 of Lamput sets up the show's premise and introduces us to the unique animation style. The humor and tension in the episode are well-balanced, and the audience is left wanting more. It's a great start to a fun and quirky show!
