Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames investigate a series of interconnected murders that seem to be the work of a doomsday cult. The victims are all members of a wealthy family, and their deaths appear to be ritualistic in nature. As they delve deeper into the case, Goren and Eames discover that each victim had a connection to a man named Ezekiel, who claims to be a prophet chosen by God to usher in the end times.

As they attempt to unravel the cult's mysterious and complex belief system, Goren and Eames also find themselves having to navigate the complex dynamics of the family at the center of the case. Each member has their own secrets and motivations, and it soon becomes clear that the family's power and wealth are both a blessing and a curse. As the detectives race against time to stop the cult's next move and prevent further bloodshed, they find themselves drawn into a high-stakes battle between good and evil, with lives and souls at stake.

Meanwhile, Goren grapples with his own personal demons, and his unorthodox methods come under scrutiny as he finds himself pushed to the edge. Eames is his steady partner, the one who keeps him grounded and helps him stay focused on the task at hand. Together, they must use all of their skills and experience to solve a case that tests their limits and challenges their beliefs. The Third Horseman is a tense and gripping episode of Law & Order: CI that will keep viewers on the edge of their seat until the very end.
