Ep 14. Coffee, Tea or Annie

After a long work week, Detective Sam Tyler is ready to unwind and enjoy some quality time with his girlfriend. But his plans are derailed when he and his team are called to investigate the brutal murder of a young woman found in an alleyway. As they gather evidence and interview potential suspects, Sam can't shake the feeling that the victim's life was very different from his own.

When Sam discovers that the woman had a connection to a local strip club, he goes undercover to try and get information from the employees. However, his cover is quickly blown when one of the dancers recognizes him from a previous case. Sam's boss, DI Gene Hunt, isn't pleased with his detective's rogue actions, but the team ultimately learns crucial information from their time at the club.

As the investigation continues, Sam begins to question whether he truly belongs in this world. He's taken aback by the sleazy and corrupt behavior he witnesses in the club, and he longs for the simplicity of his life in 2006. However, he can't deny that his work in the past has given him a unique perspective on the case, and he's determined to use that to solve the murder.

Things come to a head when Sam is confronted by the killer in a tense standoff. It becomes a battle of wits as Sam tries to outmaneuver the perpetrator and keep himself and his team safe. In the end, justice is served, but Sam is left reeling from the experience.

After returning home, Sam is greeted by Annie, his loving girlfriend. He realizes that he needs to focus on his life in the present, and that includes taking better care of himself and the people he cares about. As he holds Annie and reflects on the case, he knows that he's doing the best he can with the hand he's been dealt. Life on Mars isn't perfect, but he's determined to make the most of it.
