Live PD is a television show that covers real-time police action from various parts of the United States. In the season 3 premiere, which aired on September 21st, 2018, the show takes viewers on a thrilling ride with the cops on duty.

The episode is divided into segments, each featuring a different location and set of police officers. The show also features host Dan Abrams, a former ABC News anchor, along with Tom Morris Jr., a crime journalist, who provide commentary and context on each segment.

One of the show's first stops is the Richland County Sheriff's Department in South Carolina. The first segment starts with an officer following up on a domestic disturbance call. The officer arrives at a house where a man and his girlfriend have been arguing. The man is visibly intoxicated and becomes belligerent when the officer enters the house. The officer remains calm and tries to reason with the man, but he escalates the situation and the officers are forced to use their stun gun. This segment ultimately ends with the man being safely subdued and taken into custody.

The next segment takes us to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where officers are dealing with a car accident. A vehicle has crashed into a power pole, and as a result, power lines have fallen onto the road. The officers have to cordon off the area and call for help from the fire department. The driver of the vehicle, who appears uninjured, is asked to step out of the car. The officers soon discover that the driver is under the influence of some kind of drug, and they decide to arrest him for DUI.

Next, the show heads to the Bridgeport Police Department in Connecticut, where officers are on the lookout for a suspect who may be armed and dangerous. The suspect is wanted for driving a stolen car and is known to be carrying a gun. The officers receive a tip that the suspect has been spotted near a local park, and they quickly head over to the area. The officers comb the park looking for the suspect and finally find him sitting on a bench. The officers move swiftly to apprehend the suspect and, in the process, find a loaded handgun.

Another segment takes us to Jeffersonville, Indiana, where a K9 unit is called in to apprehend a suspect who has fled the scene of a traffic stop. The suspect has abandoned his car and taken to foot, disappearing into the nearby woods. The officers are hot on his trail and call in a K9 unit to track him down. The K9 unit picks up the suspect's scent and leads the officers through the woods. After a tense chase, the officers finally catch up with the suspect and apprehend him without incident.

The show concludes with one final segment from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office in central Texas. The officers are investigating a report of stolen property and soon find themselves in a high-speed chase with suspects in a pickup truck. The suspects are driving erratically, swerving through traffic and ignoring stop signs. The officers pursue the suspects for several miles, eventually cornering them in a residential area. The suspects abandon the vehicle and take off on foot, but the officers quickly catch up with them and take them into custody.

Overall, the premiere episode of Live PD season 3 was full of action-packed moments and thrilling police work. The show is an excellent window into the daily lives of police officers and the range of situations they encounter on the job.
