Love It or List It Vancouver Season 1 Episode 24 Michele & Gary

Michele and Gary are a couple from the Vancouver area who have been living in their current home for over twenty years. As an executive assistant and a commercial real estate broker respectively, they both love their jobs and don't want to have to relocate. However, the house they built so long ago has not kept up with their changing needs.

Michele and Gary's home is in dire need of renovation. They want to open up the space in their kitchen and create a large island, but the location of their loads-bearing walls makes that difficult. In addition, their living room is small and cramped, which makes it hard for them to entertain their friends and family. The couple thinks they need more space to breathe, so they want to build an extension of their home. But Gary is hesitant about the cost.

On top of that, they have storage issues — Michele has accumulated a ton of items over the years, but the current storage spaces in the home aren't ideal, leading to clutter. Meanwhile, Gary is never home and feels like all of his work and stress is not rewarded with a comfortable, polished space.

Michele is also unhappy about their back patio, which is too small and difficult to access. She would like to create more outdoor space by replacing the existing deck and adding a new area for dining and lounging.

Enter designer Jillian Harris and realtor Todd Talbot. Jillian is tasked with updating the home's design to meet the couple's current needs and wants. Meanwhile, Todd has to find the perfect new home that fits the couple's lifestyle and preferences.

As always, there are some unexpected roadblocks along the way, including permitting issues and unexpected expenses. But with Jillian's design skills and Todd's real estate expertise, will Michele and Gary stay in their updated home or find a new dream home with everything they want and need?
