Love It or List It Vancouver Season 6 Episode 3 Charmaine and Cam

Charmaine and Cam are a couple living in their Kitsilano home with their two daughters. They love the location of their house, but the layout and design of their home no longer work for their growing family. Charmaine is looking for a bigger kitchen, more storage, and a third bedroom for the girls. Cam, on the other hand, is reluctant to leave their home, as he has put a lot of work into it and loves the area they live in.

The Love It or List It Vancouver team, made up of designer Jillian Harris and realtor Todd Talbot, take on the task of finding a solution for this family's home dilemma. Jillian has her work cut out for her as she will need to create more space within the home without completely changing the overall aesthetic. Todd, on the other hand, will pit homes against their existing house to see if they should indeed love it or list it.

Jillian begins the renovation process by addressing the main concern of the homeowners - the lack of storage. She creates a mudroom area near the front door, which not only adds ample storage but also gives the family a place to enter and exit without tripping over shoes and backpacks. She also decides to open up the main living area by taking out a wall between the living room and the hallway, allowing for more light and open space. She also plans to extend the kitchen by moving it into the old dining room area, creating a more spacious and functional kitchen.

As the renovation progresses, Todd takes the family to check out potential new homes. The first home they visit is located in a beautiful area with a view, but the house itself has an awkward layout. Charmaine and Cam both agree that the layout wouldn't work for their family, but they are impressed with the location. The second home they visit ticks off most of the boxes on their list - a larger kitchen, more bedrooms, and more storage. However, the location is farther away from their daughters' school and Charmaine is concerned about the longer commute.

Back at their home, Jillian goes into overdrive as the couple expresses a desire to have a dedicated homework and craft area for their daughters. She creates a custom desk area that spans the width of the wall, complete with drawers and cabinets for storage. Jillian also adds a custom-built floor-to-ceiling shelving unit in the living room, while also creating privacy for Charmaine and Cam's bedroom by adding a barn door to the hallway.

On decision day, Charmaine and Cam have a tough choice to make as they weigh the options of their newly renovated home against the potential of a move. Jillian reveals their beautifully renovated home, complete with a new mudroom, extended kitchen, and new custom-built desk and shelving unit. Todd brings them back to the homes they visited, as well as a wildcard home that is fully renovated and located in a new area. The couple ultimately decides whether they will love their new and improved home or list it in favor of a new location.
