Ruby, played by the legendary Jackée Harry, is a woman who always speaks her mind and has enough sass to keep anyone on their toes.
In the pilot episode, T.J is also trying to sell a house to a wealthy client, which seems like her ticket to financial stability. However, she is unaware that her brother Latrell might have accidentally caused some damage to the house, ruining the sale. T.J is outraged by Latrell's mistake, but ultimately realizes that she has to work with him to salvage the deal.
Throughout the episode, we see the bond between T.J and Latrell grow stronger. Despite their differences, they stand by each other through thick and thin, and their love for their family keeps them grounded.
Apart from the main characters of the show, Love That Girl! also features some excellent supporting cast members. There's T.J's best friend, Nefertiti, played by Kendyl Joi, who is a free-spirited woman who works as a fashion designer. She's always there to support T.J no matter what. Then there's T.J's boss, Delroy, played by Phil Morris, who is a sharp-tongued real estate mogul with a keen eye for spotting good deals.
Overall, the pilot episode of Love That Girl! sets the tone for the rest of the series. It's a funny, heartwarming show that celebrates the bond between siblings and the importance of family.
