Ep 1. Present Tense

In the opening of season 5 of Major Crimes, the squad is forced to face the aftermath of the season 4 finale where Lieutenant Michael Tao (Michael Paul Chan) was kidnapped. As the episode continues, the team tries to find any information about Tao's whereabouts. As the investigation takes off, the squad receives a note that they believe to be from the killer. Meanwhile, Rusty Beck (Graham Patrick Martin) goes through distress after learning that Gus (Rene Rosado) is being moved to a rehabilitation facility, threatening to end their already strained relationship. When the team receives information on Tao’s location, they run into an unanticipated turn of events. Ultimately, the team must keep their cool and strategize how to successfully solve the case and save Tao. Throughout the episode, the audience is left on the edge of their seats as the Major Crimes team shows us that even the most difficult cases can be conquered with determination, teamwork, and the right strategies.
