In Man v. Food with Adam Richman season 2 episode 13, Adam travels to Baltimore, Maryland to take on some of the city's most iconic food challenges. First, he visits a local seafood spot to try the Chesapeake Bay classic known as the "Destroyer." This massive sandwich is loaded with crab cakes, shrimp salad, and fried oysters, and comes with a side of Old Bay seasoned french fries. Adam also takes on a spicier challenge when he heads to the popular chicken joint known as Nando's PERi-PERi to try their "Extra-Hot" flame-grilled chicken. The chicken is marinated in a spicy African bird's eye pepper sauce and served with sides like seasoned rice and flavorful garlic bread.
For the next challenge, Adam visits DiPasquale's Italian Marketplace, a family-owned deli and market that has been a Baltimore staple since 1914. Here, he takes on the "Godfather Challenge," which consists of a two-foot-long Italian sub packed with prosciutto, salami, capicola, ham, and provolone cheese. He also samples some of the market's homemade pastas and cured meats, and learns about the history of the business from third-generation owner, Joe DiPasquale.
Adam's next stop is in the heart of Baltimore at the Lexington Market, one of the oldest continuously operating public markets in the country. He visits Faidley Seafood, which has been a fixture in the market since 1886, to try their famous jumbo lump crab cakes. Made with fresh crab meat and a secret blend of spices, these crab cakes are a Maryland delicacy. Adam also samples some of the market's other offerings, including fresh oysters and raw clams.
Finally, Adam heads to the Heavy Seas Alehouse to take on their "Loose Cannon Challenge." This challenge involves a two-pound burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, and crispy onion straws, served with a side of seasoned fries and a pint of their flagship Loose Cannon beer. If Adam can finish the entire meal in under 30 minutes, he'll earn a spot on the Heavy Seas Alehouse's Wall of Fame.
Throughout the episode, Adam also explores some of Baltimore's unique culture and history, taking in sights like the Inner Harbor and Federal Hill Park. He chats with locals about their favorite food spots and gets to know the city's vibrant culinary scene. As always, Adam brings his signature enthusiasm and humor to each challenge, making for an entertaining and mouth-watering episode of Man v. Food.
