Martin Lawrence has long been one of the big names in comedy. On Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Stand- Up, Lawrence puts together an all-star cast of comedians including Doug Williams, Biz Markie, Rodney Saulsberry and Alonzo Bodden. These comedians hold nothing back and perhaps are less for the mainstream and more suited for the urban audience.

Like any set like this, their are high and low moments. It becomes obvious that Bodden and Williams are future comedic stars. Others leave more to be desired. Overall the audience DVD comedy set is pretty solid. Put together by Anchor Bay Entertainment, this set has well over an hour of comedy that will keep you entertained.

Overall Martin's 1st Stand up is solid. It should do for the current generation what Def Comedy Jam did for its generation. The variety of the comics is just enough to keep the viewer glued to their seat.
