Ep 1. Pilot

Three middle-aged friends navigate the challenges of adulthood in the series premiere of "Men of a Certain Age." Joe, Owen, and Terry are old college buddies who now find themselves struggling with various aspects of their lives. Joe is a separated father grappling with gambling and career issues, while Owen tries to balance his dead-end job with his fledgling car dealership. Terry, meanwhile, is a struggling actor who still lives with his father and is desperate to find some steady work.

The three men reunite at a surprise party for their former college colleague, Rick, who has become a successful car salesman. The party brings back old memories and causes each of them to reflect on where they are in their lives. Joe finds himself attracted to Rick's wife, but quickly recoils from the thought of betraying his friend. Meanwhile, Owen is angered by Rick's success, believing it to be largely unearned, and Terry struggles to find a way to fit in with the group.

As the night wears on, each of the men begins to confront the harsh realities of their present situations. Joe is haunted by the prospect of losing his job and being unable to support his children, while Owen realizes that his job is going nowhere and he needs to take a risk if he wants to succeed. Terry, for his part, decides to audition for a role that will take him out of his comfort zone.

By the end of the episode, the three friends realize that they need to support each other if they want to make it through the challenges of middle age. They make a pact to have a men's night every month, promising to be there for each other no matter what. The pilot episode of "Men of a Certain Age" sets the stage for the rest of the series, exploring the complex relationships and struggles of these three friends as they navigate their way through life.
