David Bromstad, the vibrant and enthusiastic host of My Lottery Dream Home, is back on screen with an all-new episode of season 1. The show, which airs on HGTV, follows lottery winners as they seek out their dream homes.
In episode 8, titled "Downtown Dream Home", Bromstad meets up with a recent lottery winner, Keith, who's looking to buy his dream home in one of the country's most expensive cities – San Francisco. Keith, who works as a psychotherapist, has won over $5 million in the lottery and wants to invest his winnings in a beautiful, newly-renovated home in the city's downtown area.
Bromstad starts by taking Keith on a tour of the city's bustling downtown district. The two visit some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and Fisherman’s Wharf. Bromstad is in awe of the stunning views each location offers and tells Keith that he's confident he can help him find his dream home in such an incredible city.
The two then start their search for Keith's dream home. Keith wants a condo with a view of the city's downtown skyline but isn't willing to spend all of his winnings on it. This proves to be a difficult task for Bromstad, as housing prices in San Francisco have skyrocketed in recent years.
To start the search, Keith and Bromstad visit a high-end condo listing with a price tag of $4.5 million. The condo has panoramic views of the city, a huge open-concept living area, and a modern kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances. Keith is impressed but tells Bromstad that he does not want to spend that much money on a home. Bromstad takes note of the style of the space and the features that Keith likes so that he can show him other, more affordable options.
Bromstad then takes Keith to see a slightly smaller condo listing that has all the features he likes but is available for a much more reasonable price of $2.5 million. The condo has a similar open-concept living area and a modern kitchen; however, it also has a smaller balcony, which is a trade-off Bromstad thinks Keith is willing to make.
The two then visit a final listing, a beautiful Victorian-style home in the city's historic district. The home has traditional architecture and woodwork that the other condos lacked. Keith loves the space's character and the location. However, Keith is concerned about the upkeep required to maintain the historic home. Bromstad reassures Keith by telling him that he can always hire help to maintain the home's intricate details.
After touring all three homes, Keith must make the tough choice of choosing which home he wants to purchase. It's clear that each home offers a unique set of features that appeals to Keith, but ultimately, he must decide which one fits his budget and style the best.
Overall, the eighth episode of My Lottery Dream Home is an exciting journey through the beautiful city of San Francisco. David Bromstad's infectious positivity and genuine compassion for helping his clients find their dream home make for an entertaining and emotional viewing experience. Whether you're a fan of the show or a first-time viewer, "Downtown Dream Home" is an enjoyable and engaging episode that highlights the beauty of San Francisco and the power of winning the lottery.
