In episode 3 of Myriad Colors Phantom World, entitled Operation Copy-Paste Memories, we find our team dealing with a phantom that is causing people to lose their memories. The episode begins with Haruhiko and Koito discussing their upcoming exams when they receive a call from Mai, who tells them about a strange phantom causing amnesia in people. The trio are soon joined by Reina, and the four of them head out to investigate.
Upon reaching the affected area, the group realizes that the phantom’s ability is not limited to just causing amnesia. The phantom is also capable of copying and pasting memories from one person to another. This causes a lot of confusion and chaos, as people forget who they are and start assuming the identities of others whose memories they have acquired.
The team starts their investigation by visiting a professor at a local university who has been affected by the phantom’s ability. They try to get some clues about the phantom from him but are unable to do so. They then meet another girl who is affected by the phantom, and through her, they learn that the phantom is hiding in a nearby flower garden.
When the group arrives at the flower garden, they are attacked by the phantom, who attempts to copy and paste their memories. The attack is unsuccessful, however, thanks to Haruhiko’s quick thinking. He uses his special ability to create an illusion that confuses the phantom and allows the team to get the upper hand.
After a fierce battle, the team is able to defeat the phantom and restore everyone’s memories. However, there is a twist in the tail - as they examine the phantom, they find out that it is not a typical phantom. In fact, it is a creature created by another phantom to serve a specific purpose. This leads the group to wonder about the identity of the phantom that created it and what its ultimate goal might be.
The episode ends with some hints about the answer to this mystery. However, as is often the case with Myriad Colors Phantom World, there are more questions than answers. What is the ultimate goal of the phantoms, and what are they really after? These are questions that will no doubt be explored as the season progresses.
Overall, Operation Copy-Paste Memories is a solid episode of Myriad Colors Phantom World. It expands on the world-building that has been established in earlier episodes, while also introducing new themes and concepts. The episode is well-paced and does a good job of maintaining tension throughout. While it doesn't answer all of the questions it raises, it does leave the viewer intrigued and wanting more.
