In Naked and Afraid season 4 episode 15, titled "Meltdown On The Mountain," two survivalists are dropped in the middle of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The terrain is rugged, unforgiving, and the elevation is over 8,000 feet.

The first survivalist is Dave, a self-taught outdoorsman from Wisconsin who is very familiar with the wilderness. He's tough, physically fit, and mentally prepared for whatever challenges come his way. The second survivalist is Shannon, who is originally from the city and has no wilderness experience. She's a yoga instructor, and while she's in good shape, she's never been in a situation like this before.

The two are given only a few survival items, including a machete, a pot, a flint, a fishing net, and a shared map. They start trekking through the wilderness with the aim of reaching their designated extraction point in 21 days.

As they trek through the mountains, they face a number of harsh obstacles. The first is the altitude. Both Dave and Shannon are unaccustomed to the thin air and struggle to breathe. They have to stop frequently to rest and catch their breath. The cold nights make it even tougher on them, and they are often shivering and struggling to stay warm.

The next challenge they face is finding food and water. They start by exploring the nearby river and set up a fishing net in the hopes of catching some fish. However, they quickly realize that the fish are sparse, and they only manage to catch a few small ones. They're forced to supplement their meager diet with berries and nuts that they find along the way.

As the days go by, Dave and Shannon start to experience tension between them. Dave is used to being in complete control, while Shannon is more laid back and willing to go with the flow. They start to argue about who is leading the way and whether they're going in the right direction.

Their situation takes a turn for the worse when they encounter a steep cliff face that they have to climb. Shannon is a bit fearful of heights, and she struggles to keep up with Dave as they scale the cliff. At one point, Shannon becomes trapped and starts to panic, forcing Dave to take charge and help her up.

As things start to unravel between the two, they're hit with another obstacle: a sudden snowstorm. They're caught off guard, and the snow starts to pile up around them. They have to quickly build a shelter and start a fire to stay warm. The stress of the situation causes their relationship to take a further hit.

Despite all the challenges, Dave and Shannon persevere. They continue to trek through the mountains, and as they near their extraction point, they start to feel a sense of accomplishment. They've overcome the altitude, the cold, the lack of food and water, and all the other obstacles that were thrown their way.

In the end, "Meltdown On The Mountain" is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of perseverance. Dave and Shannon proved that even in the most extreme of circumstances, we can find a way to survive and thrive.
