The Japanese television series Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals is spin off series from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. The spin off centers around Rock Lee, both one of Naruto's friends and rivals who can cannot use ninjutsu but is very experienced in taijutsu (hand-to-hand combat), and his adventures into becoming a full fledged ninja. The spin-off is more comical and lighthearted than its original series but still maintains Rock Lee's desire and ambition to become a great ninja warrior. The characters from the original series are all present within the spin-off and they are chibi size (characters with small bodies but large heads that appear cute). All the voice actors from the original series stars in the animation spin-off. Yoichi Masukawa still provides the voice of Rock Lee while Junko Takeuchi plays the voice of Naruto. Studio Pierrot has produced the manga into an animation adaption. Masahiko Murata directed the first 26 episodes and now Gorou Sessha continues to oversea the rest of the project. The spin-off series has no real story line, itself. It just follows the wacky and hilarious adventures of Rock Lee and his friends from clearing his sensee's name from a lewd crime to trying to confess his love to Sakura. The series has five musical themes including one that is dedicated to Rock Lee called "Give Lee Give Lee Rock Lee" by Animetal USA and Hironobu Kageyama which has already been season one's main opening theme. The ending theme of the first season is "Twinkle, Twinkle". The first and second season came out with a total of 26 episodes. It's third season came out with 10 episodes and its fourth season has just started. With more than 40 episodes, the series still continues. It premiered on TV Tokyo and continues to play on the channel. There is no English dubbed version yet.
