NCIS: New Orleans season 2 episode 8, entitled "Confluence," begins with a shocking discovery of a body on the banks of the Mississippi River. The body is that of a young woman who had been missing for several days. The case is immediately handed over to the NCIS team.
As Special Agent Dwayne Pride and his team investigate the case, they discover a wealth of information about the victim, including her connections to several men who were involved in illegal activities. The victim, whose name is Anne, was a popular waitress at a strip club in the French Quarter. She was known to have relationships with many of the club's patrons, some of whom were involved in organized crime.
The team quickly realizes that the victim's murder is just the beginning of a much larger and more complex case. They soon find themselves embroiled in a tangled web of deceit and corruption that reaches all the way to the highest levels of the New Orleans political establishment.
As the investigation continues, the team uncovers evidence that points to a major conspiracy involving the city's top politicians, businessmen, and organized crime bosses. With nowhere else to turn, they enlist the help of a group of unlikely allies, including a retired cop, a street-smart hustler, and a former gang member.
Together, the team races against time to unravel the mystery behind Anne's death and bring the conspirators to justice. Along the way, they encounter obstacles and challenges that test their resolve and their loyalty to each other.
In the end, however, the team emerges victorious, having solved one of the toughest cases in NCIS history. With the conspirators behind bars and justice served, the city of New Orleans can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
