Ep 7. Wig

Jess thinks that Schmidt is going through a quarter-life crisis when he purchases a cheap-looking wig. However, she later finds out that he is wearing it to hide his bald patch which he is insecure about. Meanwhile, Nick and Coach are busy trying to impress Keaton, who is their new landlord. Keaton is an attractive woman who seems to have a strong preference for men who are physically fit. So, Nick and Coach start working out in an attempt to win her over.

Winston is having his own troubles with his partner Aly. They had agreed to keep their relationship casual, but Winston is starting to catch feelings for her and is having a hard time dealing with it. He ends up seeking advice from Cece, who is more than happy to help him out.

As the episode progresses, tensions rise between Schmidt and Jess. Jess is upset that Schmidt lied to her about his wig and he feels like she is not being supportive. However, they eventually make up and Schmidt learns to embrace his baldness.

Meanwhile, Nick and Coach's attempts to impress Keaton go awry when they end up getting injured while working out. But, surprisingly, Keaton turns out to be more interested in their personalities than their physique.

Winston and Aly also have a heart-to-heart, where they agree to take their relationship to the next level and become exclusive. The episode closes with Jess and Schmidt having a heart-to-heart of their own, where they reaffirm their friendship and address any issues that may have arisen between them.
