Ep 1. Pi

Charlie Eppes is a young genius mathematician who works for CalSci (California Institute of Science). When the FBI discovers a high-level security breach involving a missing National Security Agency (NSA) codebreaker, they turn to Charlie to help them solve the problem. Charlie's older brother, FBI Special Agent Don Eppes, enlists Charlie's help in tracking down a suspect, a former student of Charlie's who is now involved in a plot to break the encryption code called "Pi", which is one of the most complex codes ever created.

The episode begins with Charlie lecturing a group of advanced mathematics students on the beauty of Pi. The episode ends with Charlie returning to his lecture hall, where he tells his students that math can be used for both good and evil and that they have a responsibility to use their knowledge for the betterment of society.
