Picking up where the last episode left off, episode 8 of Orange is the New Black's second season, entitled Appropriately Sized Pots, continues to explore the fallout from a major event that rocked Litchfield's women's prison. With tensions running high and sides being drawn, it's a crucial episode that dives deep into the lives of some of the series' most fascinating characters.

As usual, the episode is broken up into several different storylines, one of which involves the prison's growing black market. With various contraband goods becoming more and more valuable, inmates are getting creative in their attempts to get their hands on everything from drugs to cell phones. One particularly enterprising inmate sees an opportunity in the kitchen, and decides to start stealing and selling the industrial kitchen equipment. The scheme quickly spirals out of control, and has unexpected consequences that affect everyone in the prison.

Elsewhere, the episode continues to dig into the backstory of some of Litchfield's most intriguing characters. We get more insight into the life of Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren, and learn about the impact that her troubled childhood had on her adult life. We also see more of the relationship between Vee and Taystee, which is becoming more complicated by the day. As friend turns against friend, and allegiances are tested, the tension in the prison only continues to escalate.

Despite all the drama, there are also some moments of levity in Appropriately Sized Pots. One storyline sees the Litchfield staff being forced to eat the terrible food that they've been serving to the inmates, which leads to some hilarious scenes of the guards choking down slop. Meanwhile, another storyline sees some of the older inmates struggle to use the new electronic tablet computers that have been installed in the prison. The result is a hilarious look at how the generation gap can impact even the most mundane of activities.

Throughout the episode, there's a sense that things are reaching a boiling point. With alliances shifting and lines being drawn, it's clear that there's a major conflict brewing just below the surface. And as the inmates and staff alike struggle to navigate the complex dynamics of life in Litchfield, there's a growing sense that things are about to come to a head.

All in all, Appropriately Sized Pots is a strong entry in Orange is the New Black's second season. It's a high-stakes episode that doesn't shy away from diving deep into the complex lives of its characters, while also delivering some much-needed laughs. And with the stage set for some serious conflict in the episodes to come, it's clear that the show is only going to get more gripping as it continues to explore the lives of the women behind bars.
