Jeremy's Mummy is the fourth episode of the fifth season of the popular British sitcom, Peep Show. The show follows the lives of two very different young men, Mark Corrigan and Jeremy "Jez" Usborne, who share a flat in Croydon, south London. Mark is an uptight, socially awkward loan manager, while Jez is a slacker musician with no real direction in life.

In this episode, we see Jez grappling with some serious personal issues, as he tries to come to terms with the death of his mother. At the beginning of the episode, we see Jez and Mark at the funeral, where Jez is clearly struggling to hold it together. Mark, being the awkward and socially inept person that he is, says all the wrong things and ends up making things worse.

After the funeral, Jez becomes increasingly preoccupied with the idea of preserving his mother's memory, and he becomes convinced that the best way to do this is to write a book about her life. As he starts to research and write, however, he discovers that there are a lot of things about his mother that he never knew - things that make him question everything he thought he knew about her.

Meanwhile, Mark is dealing with his own problems - namely, the fact that he's just been dumped by his girlfriend Sophie. He's desperate to win her back, so he decides to take some advice from a self-help book called "The Tao of Steve" and starts to act like a "player", trying to make Sophie jealous by flirting with other women.

As the episode progresses, we see Jez becoming more and more obsessed with his book, to the point where he's neglecting everything else in his life. He's stopped paying the rent, he's not eating, and he's ignoring phone calls from his friends. Mark becomes increasingly worried about him and tries to intervene, but Jez just tells him to mind his own business.

Eventually, Jez finishes the book and gives Mark a copy to read. Mark is initially impressed, but as he reads on, he realizes that the book is actually a thinly veiled attack on him, and that Jez has used his mother's life story as a way to settle old scores and get revenge.

The episode ends on a somber note, with Jez having a breakdown as he realizes that he's wasted months of his life on a project that has ultimately left him feeling empty and alone. Mark, feeling guilty for not doing more to help, tries to comfort him, but it's clear that things between them will never be the same again.

Overall, Jeremy's Mummy is a poignant and emotionally charged episode of Peep Show, exploring themes of grief, loss, and identity. It's a testament to the show's ability to tackle serious subject matter in a way that's both funny and thought-provoking, and it's a must-watch for fans of the series.
