The British sitcom Peep Show is famous for its innovative filming style that is a series of point of view shots showing the action of each episode from the point of view of the characters involved in each scene. Over 40 episodes of the sitcom have been produced for the British network Channel 4 beginning in 2003 and spanning eight seasons; the series creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong are prolific comedy writers in the U.K. responsible for comedies Smack the Pony and The Old Guys. Peep Show stars David Mitchell and Robert Webb who perform as actors and comedians as a double act and have also helped write many episodes of Peep Show. Beginning the first season of Peep Show we are informed Mark Corrigan is an unsatisfied loan officer at a financial institution who spends his days trying to work out ways of beginning a relationship with colleague Sophie. Mark shares his apartment with Jeremy, a university friend who has moved into Mark's spare room after breaking up with his girlfriend Big Suze. Jeremy is an aspiring musician with little to no musical talent who forms a band with his friend Super Hans while trying to find a way of starting a romance with Mark's neighbor Toni. Mark and Jeremy have many problems finding love and face a series of difficult relationships including Mark's increasingly desperate attempts to win the love of Sophie; Jeremy believes he is very attractive to the opposite sex although he has little success in attracting women. Mark's life seems to be moving in the right direction when he finds out Sophie's boyfriend is cheating on her and begins his own relationship with her. After buying an engagement ring he decides he was wrong and Sophie was not the woman for him, but Sophie finds the ring and agrees to marry Mark without being asked. Throughout the seasons Mark and Jeremy find different women to start relationships with reflecting their changing lives as they enter their 30s.
