Ep 8. Strawberry River Inn

Portals to Hell is a spine-chilling paranormal series that follows television personality Jack Osbourne and paranormal researcher Katrina Weidman as they try to uncover some of America's most haunted places.

In the season 1 episode 8, titled Strawberry River Inn, Jack and Katrina travel to Utah to investigate the creepy Strawberry River Inn. The inn's owner, Cory, reports experiencing strange paranormal activity at the inn, including apparitions, disembodied voices, and objects moving on its own. The inn was once a brothel and, even before that, a stop on the mail route during the Wild West. The inn's dark and gritty past has left a haunting energy in the atmosphere that currently has the owner worried about the safety of his guests.

The duo starts their investigation by interviewing Cory about his experiences and the history of the inn. They also speak with several other locals who have had their own mysterious encounters at the inn. With this information in hand, they proceed to explore the numerous rooms, halls, and corners of the inn.

As they begin their investigation, they quickly recognize the presence of multiple spirits dwelling within the inn, especially in Room 6, where the eerie energy unsettles everyone, especially the ghost tour guides who never sleep in that room. The paranormal investigators set up their equipment including EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) and thermal imaging cameras to capture any paranormal activity.

Throughout their time in the inn, Jack and Katrina are met with unprecedented phenomena. They hear footsteps, see doors open and close, and witness shadows moving in the hallway. The duo even picks up several unexplained EVPs and harbors a sense of never-being-alone.

Their investigation leads them to investigate the basement of the inn, where the previous stables converted into guest bedrooms. As soon as Jack and Katrina enter, they feel the same spine-tingling cold draft the guests complain about and hear murmurs. In the basement, they come across an abandoned tunnel, which was used to smuggle alcohol during prohibition times. The tunnel opens up a new realm of its own, which Jack and Katrina explore with cautious steps.

As the night progresses, the activity seems to increase, with chairs moving, knocking on the walls and what sounds like something dragging. Katrina attempts to communicate with the spirit that has been making noise and is ultimately terrified by the response. During the investigation, they uncover the history of a woman who committed suicide on the property, which leaves the team wondering if she is the source of all the paranormal activity.

For Jack and Katrina, investigating the Strawberry River Inn left them with lots of doubts and uncertain what to expect. With the help of eye-witness accounts, and paranormal tools, they try to get some of their questions answered. However, in the end, some mysteries may never truly get solved.
