In the first episode of Ragnarok, we are introduced to Magne, an awkward and bullied teenager who moves back to his hometown, Edda, with his mother and younger brother. As they settle into their new home, strange things begin to happen, including unusual amounts of rainfall and a strange shift in weather patterns.
Magne's arrival in Edda also coincides with the return of the wealthy and powerful Jutul family, who have come back to Edda to reopen their factory. The family is known for their influence and sway over the town, making them a formidable presence. Magne quickly realizes that there is something off about the Jutuls and their intentions. While attending a party at their mansion, Magne witnesses Vidar Jutul, the family patriarch, wield a mysterious sword that seems to have an otherworldly power.
From there, Magne begins to uncover more secrets about the town and the people in it. With the help of a new friend, Isolde, he learns about Norse mythology and the prophesied end of the world, known as Ragnarok. As he navigates high school drama, family issues, and newfound powers, Magne must also confront the Jutuls and their dangerous hold over the town.
Throughout the first episode, the tension builds as we learn more about the characters and their motivations. The fascinating mythology and supernatural elements add to the intrigue and mystery, making for a captivating first episode.
