Rip to the Tip is a thrilling and adrenaline-pumping reality travel show that aired on FUEL TV in 2012, featuring two professional motocross riders undertaking an epic journey across the deserts of Baja, California. The show was produced by Bud Light, Oakley, and Dirtbike magazine, and sponsored by Yamaha, The Palms, and Dirt Rider.

The show stars Brian Deegan, an American professional freestyle motocross rider and a pioneer of the sport, and Todd Potter, a professional motocross racer and X Games gold medalist. The two riders embark on a 1,200-mile journey from the U.S./Mexico border to the southernmost tip of Baja, riding Yamaha YZ450F motorcycles equipped with custom parts and accessories to tackle the harsh terrain and extreme weather conditions.

The show is hosted by motocross journalist and radio personality Jim Holley, who provides commentary and insights throughout the journey, interviewing the riders and their support crew, and sharing fun facts and trivia about the local culture and flora and fauna of Baja.

The first episode of Rip to the Tip sets the scene for the journey, introducing the riders and their motivations for taking on such a daunting challenge. Brian Deegan, known as the "General" for his leadership skills, competitive spirit, and no-fear attitude, explains that he wants to test himself and his limits, pushing the boundaries of his physical and mental endurance. Todd Potter, known as the "Cowboy" for his love of country music, guns, and cowboy hats, states that he's in it for the adventure, the camaraderie, and the opportunity to ride in some of the most scenic and rugged landscapes in the world.

The second episode focuses on the preparation for the trip, showing the riders and their crew stocking up on provisions, fuel, and spare parts, getting their bikes tuned up and ready, and discussing the challenges and risks ahead. The crew includes mechanics, cameramen, GPS operators, and cooks, who will follow the riders in support trucks and keep them safe and fueled up along the way. The episode also introduces some of the landmarks and landmarks that the riders will encounter on their journey, such as the Sea of Cortez, the Todos Santos Islands, and the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range.

The third episode is where the real adventure begins, as the riders cross the border and enter Baja. They encounter their first obstacles and surprises, such as the long lines and bureaucracy at the checkpoint, the bumpy and dusty roads, and the scorching heat that makes them sweat and drink water constantly. They also explore some of the local cuisine and culture, sampling tacos, tequila, and Mexican music, and meeting some friendly locals who offer them help and advice.

The following episodes follow the riders as they traverse various terrains and climates, such as sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, dry riverbeds, and dense forests. They face multiple challenges and dangers, such as steep hills and drops, loose rocks and sand, narrow and winding paths, and unpredictable weather conditions, such as hurricanes and flash floods. They also encounter some wildlife, such as snakes, lizards, and turtles, and admire the beauty and diversity of the Baja landscapes, from the arid deserts to the lush oases.

Along the way, the riders bond and banter with each other, sharing stories, jokes, and pranks, and pushing each other to go faster, higher, and further. They also interact with their support crew, who provide them with food, water, fuel, and spare parts, as well as with the locals, who cheer them on and offer them hospitality. The riders also have some downtime, where they relax, play guitar, and reflect on their experiences and goals.

The last episode of Rip to the Tip showcases the epic finale, as the riders reach their ultimate destination, the Cabo San Lucas lighthouse at the southern tip of Baja. Along the way, they encounter some of the toughest challenges and obstacles yet, such as steep and narrow cliffs, deep and rocky canyons, and raging rivers. They also suffer from fatigue, injuries, and mechanical failures, but they never give up or lose their sense of humor and determination.

When they finally arrive at the lighthouse, the riders celebrate their achievement and reflect on what they've learned and experienced on their journey. They talk about the teamwork, trust, and friendship that made it possible, and the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes from overcoming obstacles and pursuing one's dreams. They also thank their sponsors, their crew, and their families for supporting them, and urge others to follow their passion and explore the world on two wheels.
