Ep 4. Bent Mountain Mill

The Salvage Dawgs are back on the road in Season 1 Episode 4, heading to Bent Mountain Mill to salvage some unique items. As they approach the location, they see the towering red and white mill, standing as a beacon of local history.

Inside the mill, the Salvage Dawgs meet up with owner, Dana, who tells them the history of the mill. Founded in 1882, the mill was operational for over 100 years and produced flour that was shipped all over the country. The team learns that the mill's machinery was recently sold, but there are still many valuable items that can be salvaged.

The Salvage Dawgs begin their hunt for treasures in the old mill. They start by pulling up some vintage 1950s metal cabinets and a selection of drawers with intricate hardware. Mike, one of the Dawgs, is especially excited about the hardware, as he sees a lot of potential for repurposing them on future projects.

As they continue through the mill, the team comes across a large metal tank that they quickly realize was used for mixing and storing flour. They decide to take it with them and begin the difficult task of removing the massive tank from the building. This soon proves to be no easy feat, as the tank is both large and extremely heavy.

With the tank out of the way, the team continues their hunt through the mill and come across a large storage unit filled to the brim with old wooden planks. They quickly realize that the planks are actually from the original mill building and are excited to add them to their salvage list.

Next, Grayson and Tay, two of the Salvage Dawgs, tackle a beautiful metal and wood industrial cart. They carefully disassemble the piece so that they can transport it and ensure that it is kept in its original state.

With a day's worth of successful salvaging, the team heads back to their warehouse, where they begin the difficult task of cleaning and restoring their salvaged finds. They start with the massive flour-mixing tank and quickly learn the difficulties of cleaning out a tank that has been sitting for decades.

Despite the challenges, the Salvage Dawgs are able to restore many of the items from Bent Mountain Mill and give them a second life in unique ways. Jay, the team leader, uses the wooden planks to create a coffee table and a desk, while Robert gets creative with the industrial cart and turns it into a unique light fixture.

Throughout the episode, the Salvage Dawgs prove their passion for finding and restoring unique pieces of history, showing that with a little bit of creativity, any item can be given a new life and purpose.
