Ep 9. Hylton Victorian

The Salvage Dawgs are at it again, scouring abandoned buildings and derelict structures, hoping to find hidden gems that they can rescue, restore and sell. In season 3 episode 9, titled Hylton Victorian, the team is tasked with dismantling a Victorian home on the Hylton property in Williamsburg, Virginia.

The Hylton family had owned the property for generations, but when it came time to sell, they knew they needed to do something about the dilapidated old house on the land. The Salvage Dawgs were brought in to salvage as much of the home as possible, allowing the family to sell the property with a clean slate.

As always, the team approaches the job with enthusiasm and dedication. They carefully remove the roof, the walls and the ornate gingerbread trim, all while taking great care not to damage any of the salvaged materials. Each piece is carefully catalogued, so they can be used in future restoration projects.

The team marvels at the intricate detail and craftsmanship of the Victorian home, which was built in the late 1800s. Despite its age and neglect, the building still exudes a grandeur and elegance that is hard to ignore. Team member Grayson Goldsmith takes particular pleasure in uncovering a beautiful stained glass window that had been hidden behind some old boards.

They also carefully disassemble the chimney brick by brick, so that it can be reused in future projects. And they are able to save some of the home's original flooring, which they hope to repurpose in a new building.
