Ep 7. Kristen Wiig / The xx

On November 19th, 2016, Saturday Night Live aired its seventh episode of season 42, hosted by the beloved alumna Kristen Wiig and featuring musical guest The xx.

The show began with a parody of the presidential recount that was happening at the time, featuring a cameo from Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump. The skit poked fun at the candidates' reactions to the recount, with Kate McKinnon reprising her role as Hillary Clinton and Wiig returning as her former running mate, Bernie Sanders.

Another notable sketch was “The Bubble,” which imagined a world where like-minded people could live in a literal bubble to avoid interacting with anyone who doesn’t share their beliefs. Wiig played a Trump supporter who wanders into the bubble by accident, resulting in some hilarious and uncomfortable moments.

As always, the show featured a variety of other sketches, including a spoof of HGTV shows called “Tiny House Hunters,” a talk show parody called “The Bubble,” and a holiday-themed skit about a family's awkward Christmas card photo shoot.

Musical guest The xx took the stage twice during the episode, performing their hits "On Hold" and "I Dare You."

Overall, the seventh episode of season 42 of Saturday Night Live was a fan-favorite, with Wiig's comedic talent shining through in every sketch. And of course, the musical performance by The xx was the cherry on top of a hilarious and entertaining evening.
