Gal Gadot, famous for portraying Wonder Woman, hosted the second episode of Saturday Night Live's 43rd season. The show opened with a political cold open, featuring cast member Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump and SNL alum and surprise guest stars Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch as members of Trump's administration. The monologue featured Gadot addressing the audience in both English and Hebrew, and poking fun at her own Israeli accent.
One of the standout sketches of the night was a Wonder Woman-themed parody of a E! News talk show, in which Gadot's Wonder Woman made an appearance to promote a fictional fragrance called "scents of permission." Similarly, Gadot played a fictional version of herself in another sketch, in which she appeared as a guest on a talk show called "The Chosen One" that celebrates exceptional Israelis.
Another memorable sketch involved a group of office workers trying to get through a Monday morning meeting with the help of their office fuel: coffee. However, when Gadot's character drinks a special Israeli coffee, things quickly turn surreal.
The musical guest for the episode was Sam Smith, who performed two songs: "Too Good at Goodbyes" and "Pray." Throughout the episode, SNL showcased its signature blend of political commentary and off-the-wall humor, making for a funny and memorable night of sketch comedy.
