Walter, Paige, Happy, Toby, and Sylvester are working hard to solve the next case when Cabe Gallo unexpectedly enters the garage. He has some unsettling news: Mark Collins, one of the FBI's most wanted criminals, has hacked the LA traffic control system and is threatening to shut down the entire city. But Collins isn't just after chaos - he's looking for revenge against the team. When Sylvester's sister, Megan, dies of complications from MS, Collins had taunted him over the internet with a video game he'd created: a game where the player navigates through a maze filled with deadly traps, with a goal of reaching a room at the end where a person that the player hates awaits their death. Sylvester had been stuck on the last level, and in a fit of despair, had asked the team for help. Collins had then used the team's location to find Megan and try to kill them all.

Now, Collins is forcing the team to play his "kill screen" game in real life, with the people they hate being the targets. If they refuse, he'll send the city into gridlock and bring it to a halt. The team can't let that happen, so they go along with Collins's plan, with the caveat that they won't actually kill anyone. Collins provides them with a list of targets - a gang leader, a corrupt politician, a cheating husband, among others - and sends them out to take them down.

As they tackle each target, the team struggles with their own moral compasses. Walter, who has been the most vocal about not wanting to hurt anyone, begins to have doubts about whether he's made the right decision. Happy, who has been given the task of taking out a woman who cheated on her husband and gave Happy's ex-husband an STD, is forced to face her own demons about her failed marriage. Sylvester, who is terrified of the game and of letting his team down, has to confront his feelings about Megan's death and whether he could have done more to save her.

Through it all, Collins is always one step ahead of them, knowing their every move. He's able to rig the game to put the team in even more danger, and they have to rely on their wits and ingenuity to survive. With time running out and the city on the brink of disaster, the team has to come together and find a way to beat Collins at his own game, before it's too late.

In the end, they're able to do just that - but not without paying a heavy price. The team is left shaken by their experience and unsure of whether they made the right choices. But they all know one thing for sure - they're stronger together than they are apart. And they'll need that strength for whatever challenges lie ahead.
